She’s brought gifts from the last town she visited, cheeses and breads, bones she found along the way, beads from a gentle woman selling her wares along the trail.
The Kudu nods gently.
She can feel his eyes as she looks up across the old burying ground.
And there he is, antlers reaching toward the sky.
He nods in approval.
She nods in return.
And then she goes, silent as she came, the Grave Guard watching as she fades into the trees.
