Super Saver Antique White Ironstone Oval Bread Platter With Motto By Coxon & Co. Trenton, New Jersey In Multiple Colors [TraODL4n]

Description:  Charles Coxin emigrated from Staffordshire, England to America in the mid 1800s. This early, white Ironstone Bread Platter by Coxon & Company, Trenton, New Jersey is an exceptional piece. A nice solid piece of white ironstone with a slightly concave inner surface weighing just under 3 pounds. Embossed on two sides of the outside edge is a Motto that is not seen very often; “Where Reason Rules, Appetite Obeys”. Encircling the inner edge and on the slightly bumped out side handles is a raised wheat pattern. A beautiful example of Americana White Ironstone by Coxon & Co., and a unique find.
