Natural Petrified Log 

The petrified wood specimen is a premineralized /petrified conifer log roughly ~200 to 225 million years old. It’s an exceptional specimen that displays perfect pre mineralization, in which the original cell wall of the plant was completely conserved resembling the sides of a actual living tree until you flip it over and reveal the petrified rings that were literally replaced by stone.

During the Late Triassic period massive conifer forests were buried by volcanic ash and mineralized.

The internal cracks filled with darker minerals and hollow cavities indicate mineral replacement during silicification which is a normal feature in high-quality petrified wood.

The rich mix of brown, yellow, cream, and gray-blue tones suggests the presence of iron oxides, manganese, & silica/quartz as mineralizing agents.
