Believe It Hackberry, Netleaf Holiday Cheer Edition [RnF26N8f]

Of the genus Celtis, also known as "sugarberries", or Palo Blanco in allusion to the color of it's wood. It has interesting warty bark when older.

This is a native New Mexico tree, standing at 30' tall max. Native SW peoples ate the berries fresh or ground, and boiled leaves and branches to make a dark brown or red dye for wool. Like the other Hackberries, this one sometimes achieves a local and anonymous fame as "the unknown tree" that no one can recognize.

You couldn't find a tougher tree, go out in the desert in the middle of summer drought and this will be the one plant you see still standing strong with leaves, animal prints all underneath the canopy where they came to find the only shade around, and filled with chattering birds.
