Discover Rare Victorian Vinaigrette Egg Locket 15k C. 1860 With A 50% Price Cut [JvUhP1R0]

This is a really special piece, exceptionally rare and in near-perfect condition which is crazy considering it is 150 years old AND an egg!  Made in the 1860's in England, this locket is designed as a vinaigrette - a personal item used to hold perfumed fabric or herbs that the wearer could smell to ward off the scents of Victorian England!  Imagine yourself, a Victorian lady or gentleman, riding in your carriage through the streets of London at night.  Most homes at the time did not have indoor plumbing so you can see where I'm going with this - luckily you have your beautiful egg locket filled with your favorite fragrance; you just pop that baby open and your journey continues!  May I also say that the engraving on this piece is top notch and no surface has been spared - it is gorgeous!  This is a rare collector's piece that you are unlikely to find again so if she speaks to you jump on it!

The egg itself, bail and loop not included, measures 1 1/8" length x 7/8" width.  With the bail it is 1.5" length.

Not stamped or signed but carefully tested for metal content.

In excellent vintage condition.  This piece is a bloomed gold -meaning there is a very high karat gold layer on top with a rosier 15k gold underneath.  On some edges this more orange-y gold has worn away but you need a loupe to see this.
