I just thought these were so sweet and lovely I could not leave them behind. I know that they came from a collection of items handed down from the owners of a family owned clothing store in Brooklyn, and believe they date to sometime between the 1920s-40s. I believe they were floor samples, and understand that these sorts of slipper were ordered as blanks, and then embroidered locally. Some losses to the embroidery and the soles are well worn--which makes them all the better to me, inducing nostalgia about a very different sort of Brooklyn (and Lower East Side, too.)
There are for small feet, I would consider more for display that wearing--dimensions 8 3/4" l x 3" w x 2 1/2". General wear with some embroidery loss as evident.
