Versatile Tall, Spare Antique Santos Figure In Otherworldly Blue Gadget [ZdNQixcR]

I purchased this antique Santos from a dealer in my neck of the woods, who had it in his hands for a few decades. That otherworldly soft blue makes me swoon, all the better for being unfettered by any detail--a perfect purity of color and form. Once he certainly had cloth arms, but I think their absence just heightens his elegant spareness-- and the impact of his nearly 15 inches in height.   The head appears to be made of clay, perhaps sculpted over wood, with beautiful craquelure to the paint on the face.   

14 13/16" t x 4" wide and deep. Surface wear and aging as evident, very much all to the good I think. Sturdy and sound, with a wooden pegI easily removed from the underside of his skirt--by which he would once have attached to a base. Stands completely flush and sturdy as is.
