Futuristic Stanford Pottery Corn Line Vintage Corn-on-the-cob Dishes Set Of Two (2) Circa 1940s Deal Alert: 40% Off [V8WyR0Mt]
Featuring a vintage set of two (2) CORN-ON-THE-COB DISHES produced by STANFORD POTTERY in the 1940s. Stanford Pottery of Sebring, Ohio created some of the most beautiful corn pottery ever made with its "Corn Line".
The molds were more detailed than similar corn pottery produced during the same time period and the pieces were glazed with gorgeous yellow and green glazes, reminiscent of a majolica finish. The line of pottery is absolutely stunning!
Adding to the whimsy of corn pottery, Stanford uniquely designed its pieces so the husks formed the first letter of the item's use. For example, an "S" shaped husk can be found on the salt shaker, a "P" on the pepper shaker, a "G" on the grease pot, and so on.
The CORN-ON-THE-COB shaped dishes are about 9 ½” long by 3 ½”wide and in wonderful vintage condition. There is a very tiny rough spot on edge of one of the dishes but I believe it is glaze not a nick/chip. Please look at the photos carefully. The bottoms are marked STANFORD.
