- Fulvia Plautilla was born about 185 CE. Her father was a commander in the Praetorian Guard & was cousin & friend to Emperor, Septimius Severus. They arranged for Plautilla to marry Septimius's son and co-Emperor, Caracalla, in 202 CE. The marriage was unhappy & Caracalla despised Plautilla. In 205 CE, Plautilla's father was arrested and executed for treachery and she and her brother were exiled. Plautilla was murdered on Caracalla's orders when Septimius Severus died in 211 CE. Her coins are from the reign Septimius Severus.
