There's just something about an original Gump grinder. Technology and time might march on, but nothing beats the proven indestructibility and reliability of an old-world grinding machine built right. The rugged construction, the solid and sturdy cast iron, those heavy-duty rollers: The whole of its parts has made the Gump name a true legend in its field.

Chicago's MPE (Modern Processing Equipment) realized this a while back, so they purchased the Gump brand, another Windy City manufacturing mainstay. Today, MPE has modeled a current line of heavy-duty roller grinders after the Gump design, and they also lovingly refurbish original Gump grinders that are lucky enough to land in their inventory.

And that's what we have with this Gump offering: An absolutely beautiful, mint-condition Gump No. 77 industrial grinder, originally built in the 1970s, expertly reconditioned by MPE in the early 2000s, and then purchased from MPE by the seller in 2004.

When you purchase a Gump grinder, you're literally investing in a piece of history that will never be repeated. We're talking legacy-level, and for this reason, we don't expect this one to stick around long.

From a production standpoint, it's hard to beat the incredibly high output and absolutely fine grind capacity of a Gump. Fun fact: Gump grinders were originally designed as sugar mills (granulizers) but found a home in coffee grinding due to their incredible precision.

The seller has meticulously maintained this industrial grinder, reconditioning the grinding heads three times, most recently in 2023. They've also committed to a regular daily, monthly, and annual servicing schedule to sustain its 7,000 pounds/month output.
