Dearest Kevin,
One of my favorite insects is the cicada. They are the sound of summer, especially in Greece where they drown out the sounds of birds. Sometimes they’re so loud, people can’t hear you on the other end of a phone call.

I like how when you were a little boy, your dad told you that “once the cicada stop singing it’s time for school to start”. So true! For me it’s a sad day when they cease waking me up in the morning… I know summer is coming to a quick end.
