DESCRIPTION: Table top vacuum tube AM radio manufactured by Zenith in 1955 time frame in excellent working and excellent physical condition. This model features red accent color on the handle and the knobs, very pretty!

SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations very clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment. The station frequency selectivity and sensitivity is excellent.

CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded black plastic cabinet. No cracks, chips, no major scratches. Usually this model has a crack on top from the back edge but not this one! All original factory molded colors through and through. Not repainted no over spray not touched up. No major scratches or missing pieces. Glossy condition, looks great! Original factory red handle is in excellent working condition. The handle base buckles are a little rusty.

KNOBS: Original volume and tuning red knobs are matching and securely attached with no cracks. No missing gold color metal center inserts. Tuning knob is original and works. The tuning mount on these mid-fifties variable capacitors are slightly wobbly, feel loose, but are not. They are just mounted on three rubber bushings as factory deisgned. Rubber mounting bushings are designed to isolate the variable tuning capacitor from steel chassis. All three rubber bushings dry out over time but this radio 3 bushings have been replaced with new polypropylene bushings.

LOGO: No missing logos. Zenith recessed painted lettering is in excellent condition with very little rub off. The Zenith center crown logo is in excellent condition.

DIAL LIGHT: None. Not designed with one but can be added for an extra charge.

CLOCK: no clock

INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! Both Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure stronger reception and static free performance. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.

POWER CORD: Brand new replacement brown power cord and polarized plug are in excellent working condition. No breaks, no splits, no repair with electrical tape, or other. No exposed wiring.

BACKING BOARD: Original factory backing board is in excellent condition. Clear readable factory printing. Backing board is securely mounted.

FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: Original bottom factory label is not missing and readable, missing some material around the edges.

PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
