Statement: Liz Gargas is an oil painter concerned with creating highly narrative paintings regarding mortality and a sense of “fleeting.” She uses memory/personal experience in tandem with photography and photoshop to gather and create reference imagery for her paintings. Typically a vision for a painting will be born out of a deeply emotive moment. She worked on this painting for years after loosing her brother to suicide.
