The Candy Canes Grill Cover
A cane shaped stick candy traditionally colored with red and white stripes and flavored with peppermint. The origin of the candy cane comes from German folklore in the 1600's where a choirmaster asked a local candy maker to make some sugar sticks to help remedy the noise caused by children during the living creche. He also asked for the candy maker to had a crook on the end of the sticks to help remind the children of the shepherds who visited Jesus.
The earliest known record of candy canes is in 1837 during the Exhibition of the Massachusetts Charitable Mechanic Association. At this time confections were judged competitively.
