The Hatsukokuro Kumogane series is hand forged in Tosa from Blue #2 core steel laminated in iron cladding rated at 62-63HRC. The blade had a kurouchi blacksmith finish with natural texture from forging. These have a slightly more robust geometry and recommended for people looking for a slightly tougher carbon steel blade. These are fitted with an octagonal ebony handle.
