Mizuno Tanrenjo has a long standing reputation for high standards and tradition. This is the 4th generation Mizuno Family, Jun and Nanako.  

The Akitada Honyaki DX line is forged from Aogami (Blue) #2 high carbon steel differentially heat treated to 64-65hrc. The blade is mirror polished and the hamon is stone finished to reveal the beautiful wave pettern. This is Jun Mizunos highest offering. These knives feature Hoo wood and D-handle, with marbled buffalo horn ferrule. 

With proper knife care and maintenance these knives should form a beautiful patina over time. We recommend oiling your knife with camellia or tsubaki oil when not in use.
