Simply put, we love APR head studs for their quality and strength. The head studs in this kit are designed specifically for the 2003-2006 Mitsubishi Evo 8/9, and 1994.5-1999 DSM-7 Bolt 4G63T engines. They are engineered with one purpose; to handle high heat and stress.

It starts with the material — ARP uses a premium-grade 8740 alloy heat treated for tensile strength of 200,000 psi. Using a centerless grounding procedure with a series of specific, slight cuts, each stud is nearly perfectly concentric. Each stud is then thread rolled after a heat treat for a strength upgrade of about 10 times better fatigue strength than so many other studs on the market that are threaded before the heat treat. Each kit comes with 8740 Chromoly steel 12pt nuts, parallel-ground washers, and ARP’s Ultra-Torque fastener assembly lubricant.
