Sartorius BioWelder – Features

By using a sterile, endotoxin-free blade, the BioWelder eliminates the risk of cross-contamination during the welding process. The system automatically connects thermoplastic tubing ranging from ¼ to ¾ inch in diameter under sterile conditions. To begin, users place two hoses on either side of the tube holder, insert a new cutting blade, and close the lid, which initiates the welding program.

The cutting blade heats to 400°C and maintains this temperature for 5 seconds to achieve sterility and dehydrogenation. Afterward, the blade cools to the precise welding temperature, preconfigured based on the tubing material. The heated blade then cuts through both tubing pieces simultaneously, preserving sterility while aligning the cut ends. The mechanism pushes the tubes together, allowing the weld to cool.

Once the cooling process is completed, the lid opens to signal the cycle’s end. For added convenience, the system enables users to send welding data to a printer for validation and documentation.

Testing

This Sartorius BioWelder is used and reconditioned. Our technicians test all equipment to confirm that it operates properly and to the manufacturer’s specifications.
