Features

The Thermo ST 40 Centrifuge features a user-friendly control panel, allowing easy pre-setting of speed, RCF value, running time, temperature, and running profile. You can select between speed and RCF display or entry mode, and conveniently adjust settings even while the centrifuge is running.

This centrifuge processes 40% more 50mL conical tubes and 100% more blood tubes with biocontainment sealing than competitive models. It offers exceptional capacity, ergonomic design, and outstanding value for routine benchtop sample processing. The innovative design ensures safe, simple, and comfortable operation while delivering market-leading performance.

The Sorvall ST 40R includes multiple safety features. Its housing and rotor chamber are made of steel plate, with an armor steel interior and a high-impact resistant plastic front panel. The lid features a viewport and locking mechanism, only opening when the centrifuge is on and fully stopped.

The integrated rotor detection system prevents inadmissible speed settings, while electronic imbalance recognition enhances safe operation. An emergency lid release is also available for power failures.

Testing

Most of our equipment is used and reconditioned. Our technicians test the performance of all centrifuges and make sure the rotating assembly is properly balanced; the bearings, seals and gaskets on the spindle assembly are in good shape; and the controls work properly.

If the centrifuge is refrigerated, we also test to make sure that the machine reaches and hold temperature properly. All tolerances are measured and the exterior and interior of all units are fully cleaned. If the unit is being purchased with a rotor, we test the rotor/centrifuge combination together.
