Large photograph, boldly signed in black ink by the Romantic Norwegian composer, most celebrated for his Piano Concerto in A minor, for his incidental music to Ibsen's "Peer Gynt" (which includes Morning Mood and In the Hall of the Mountain King), and for his collection of piano miniatures, Lyric Pieces.

Large 16.5 x 21.5 inch signed chine-collé photograph, the oval image depicting Grieg in a semi-profile head and shoulders pose. Signed by Grieg in bold, dark fountain pen ink with his name alone beside a facsimile signature and facsimile musical quotation. The image by Meisenbach Riffarth, printed by H. Abel's Kunstverlag. A few small chipped areas along the edges and corners and some expertly restored creases now almost entirely invisible. Archivally matted with the chipped areas completely out of sight and set under UV Plexiglass in an attractive gilt wood frame measuring 21 x 23 inches overall. An impressive and rare signed image, truly a prime example.
