A remarkable large signed photograph from the great violinist known for his sensuous and infinitely expressive tone. Inscribed by Elman to Remo ("Raymond") Bolognini and his wife "in sincere admiration and friendship" and dated June 15, 1935. An original photograph, also signed in ink by the photographer, Ossip Garber. Drymounted, overall 28 X 33.5 cm. Very fine, unusual this size and with a remarkable dedication.

Remo Bolognini, generally regarded as one of South America’s greatest violinists, studied with Ysaye and was concertmaster in Buenos Aires under Kleiber and Ansermet. Beginning in 1937, he was concertmaster of the NBC Symphony Orchestra under Toscanini.
