Distillery Information
Four Roses is a brand of Kentucky Bourbon whiskey. Established in 1888, the brand has a long history in distillation. Four Roses has multiple permanent ranges of Bourbon including various limited editions. Blends of small batches of Bourbons as well as single barrels are produced with the flagship Four Roses Bourbon the highest awarded whiskey of the portfolio. Due to the long distilling history of the brand, a range of yeast strains have been acquired from various distilleries across Kentucky. These contribute greatly to the complexity of the finished products and give many options for blending. The origins of Four Roses are somewhat disputed, with some accounts suggesting that the brand was founded by Rufus M. Rose and named after himself, his brother and their sons. Current parent company, Kirin, refers to Paul Jones Jr. trademarking the brand in 1888 after his future wife accepted his proposal with four red roses.
