Back To School Holyfield, Evander-michael Dokes On Site Poster (1989) Full Package [gU3z8pNW]

HISTORY: Evander Holyfield fought Michael Dokes on March 11, 1989 at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas for the Continental Americas heavyweight Championship. Holyfield knocked Dokes out in the 10th round. Dokes entered the fight as the WBC Continental Americas Heavyweight Champion. He won the vacant title when he stopped James Pritchard in seven rounds on April 28, 1988. On December 9, 1988, Holyfield and Dokes fought on the same card in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Holyfield stopped Pinklon Thomas after seven rounds, and Dokes outpointed Rocky Sekorski over twelve rounds. Referee Richard Steele deducted a point from Dokes in the 6th round for repeated low blows.
In the 6th round Holyfield opened up a cut over Dokes's left eye. The end came with stunning swiftness in the 10th round. Holyfield wobbled Dokes with a left hook, then caught Dokes with another left hook a few moments later that sent him staggering back into the ropes. As Dokes bounced off the ropes, Holyfield smashed a hard right to the head. Steele rushed in and pinned Holyfield's arms as Dokes fell to his knees, his right arm hooked around one of the lower ropes. "I saw Dokes' eyes roll up," said Steele. "One more would have been one too many." The Ring named Holyfield vs. Dokes the best heavyweight fight of the 1980s. Offered here is a scarce original, on site poster for this event.
