As the rug has not yet been received into our stock, it has yet to be properly photographed; the images are not as good as our normal images. Although Kazaks are hand-knotted in Afghanistan, the design originates from the Caucasus. The short pile emphasises the sharpness of the pattern. Each piece is made using excellent Afghan wool, usually spun in Ghazni. The Afghan wool is generally slightly coarser and more curly than other wools and is perfect for carpet weaving. Afghan Kazak carpets are traditionally made with bold geometric designs in intense, vibrant colours such as rich reds, warm terracottas, and shades of blues with soft golds and creams. 

The final carpet stage in Pakistan involves many processes. Initial tensioning and alignment problems may be undertaken, followed by surface clipping, herbal washing, and tumbling. This combination of Afghan weaving and finishing in Pakistan has succeeded.
