Pair of Brand New Southwest Speed 1949-1954 Chevy Car Modified Spindles and King Pin Set (#103-9755 & #103-9115).
Southwest Speed Spindles are fabricated from 4140 steel that was not available on GM original cast design spindles. These spindles are designed to be a direct fit for 1949-1954 Chevys running Mustang II hubs & brake rotors, and the kingpin geometry is modified to work with radial tire construction. These Southwest Speed Spindles are the choice of professional builders because of their clean look, strength and ease of installation.
These kingpin kits come complete with bushings, bearings and locks. All standard kingpin bushings must be reamed or honed to exact size after installation in your spindles.
NOTE: Does not include the spindle nuts.
Spindle Features:
- Direct fit for 1949-1954 Chevys running Mustang II hubs & rotors
- Kingpin geometry modified to work with current radial tire construction
- Includes 2 spindles
- Strong forged 4140 steel construction
- Ideal for any hot rod, rat rod, & street rod restoration project
- Spindles weigh approximately 4.95 lbs. each
King Pin Specs:
- Bushing Diameter: 1.05"
- Bushing Length: 1.315"
- Bearing Thickness: .59"
- Pin Diameter: .867"
Applications:
- These spindles are designed after the 1949-1954 Chevy passenger car spindles, & will not fit pick-up spindles due to the square design. (refer to the spindle diagram).
- Chevy spindles are specifically designed for use on tube axles. A shorter, thicker axle stub makes this a slightly stronger spindle ideal for use with heavier street rods.
- These spindles require no machine work to accept modern Southwest Speed Mustang II hubs & disc brakes.
- Steering arms may be mounted to the top or bottom of the spindle, making it a good choice for gasser-style straight axle setups.
