The pendant constitutes a glowing sphere built out of small cells shaped as diamonds. Each and every cell glows, as they are carefully designed to both capture the light and shield the light source when viewed from any angle above 45 degrees.

The pendant emits a downward directed light, as well as an upward directed light that atmospherically illuminates the ceiling above.

Designed by Oivind Slaatto, Patera was launched as a modern take on the classic chandelier, in 2015. Aiming for a three-dimensional Sudoku, Slaatto created a Fibonacci sequence-based structure, providing a different expression from every vantage point that is beautiful to behold from all angles.

Both in form and function, Patera’s 360 degree glare-free light enhances the appearance of all surroundings with its poetic, yet bold appearance.

The pendant is a glowing sphere built up of small diamond-shaped cells. Each cell is carefully designed to capture light and to shield the light source from the viewing angles above 45 degrees. Each cell glows. Below 45 degrees, the fields are open to direct light downwards. A small amount of light is also sent upwards to illuminate the ceiling.
