 This was an intense stallion working incredibly hard to gain some mares in this vast area of the Wyoming desert.  Here, he is challenging an oncoming stallion.  At one point the action was so intense he sustained a blow from two back feet that literally had him airborne and landing on his ribs.  In an instant he regained his footing and the chase resumed.  

These amazingly hearty animals that endure so much from the elements of their environment-lets hope they can survive mankind's agenda for our remaining wild places
