part of my new Take a Seat series, depicting chairs in isolation that invite you to sit. this idea of taking a seat is inspired by my meditation practice in which teachers often use that phrase to transition into meditation. this piece is named for the Yogi Bedtime Tea package that is layered into the watercolor painting.

drawn to paint subjects that convey ideas about mindfulness and spirituality found through juxtapositions of objects in unlikely spaces, such as chairs and tea packaging in uninhabited landscapes. jennie’s works exude energy through her vibrant palette and energetic brushstrokes, making the subjects breathe with life. raised in eastern PA, but now resides in northeastern NJ, in West Orange, just outside NYC. the teaching artist keeps a studio in her home where she lives with her husband and two sons.
