The Zinnia Silhouette Collection really happened a bit by accident, because as I was starting to paint a collection of colorful zinnia paintings, my Instagram followers kept mentioning how much they loved the initial painted sketches on the canvases before I started layering on the color!

I got to thinking about how I would paint the pieces if the sketch WAS the painting, what things I might do differently or what details I might add and that is how the Zinnia Silhouettes were born!  I've loved dreaming up the various color combinations and the painting of each one has been a joy!

This dark gray version is inspired by vintage blackboards!  We have a few of them that we've collected down through the years, so it was so fun to mix my paints to create that chalky, vintage feel to this painting!  The whites of the flowers also have a chalky feel to them, to add to the effect!

Canvas size: 16" x 20" x 1.5"

Painted on 1-1/2" deep edge, gallery profile canvas. Edges are fully painted so framing isn't necessary.

Painting is signed in gold on front as well as signed and dated on the back.
