Else Hecht was born in 1888 in Munich. She was a craftswoman, puppeteer and came from a family of artists. Her puppets and dolls are rare and highly sought after. Here's one of her wonderful creations depicting a Policeman. This puppet has a pressed felt face with button eyes and painted features. His body is made of felt. Similar to other Else Hecht toys of the mid 1900s, this puppet was finely handcrafted in Germany using the best materials. The attention to detail and craftsmanship are remarkable. This puppet was gently used and is overall in good condition. Note that he is missing his hat. He no longer retains the Else Hecht tag.
