Here's a handsome Gentleman hand puppet, one of the characters of the Kasperle Theater, the German version of the world renown Punch and Judy show. Gentleman's wooden head is finely carved and beautifully hand painted. His face expression with a mustache is very eye catching! His hands and legs are also made of wood and hand painted. The body is made from flannel fabric with some button details. This puppet is a rare find from an old hand puppet set made in Germany, circa early 1900s. Gentleman shows lots of wear, gained during his many years of entertainment, but his structure is solid and he still displays well. The soiling, scuffs, paint loss and other imperfections only give an added layer of charm and personality to this puppet.
