Here's a spectacular Judy hand puppet, the bad-tempered wife of the world renown glove puppet Mr Punch. Judy's wooden head is finely carved and beautifully hand painted. Her hands and legs are also made of wood and skillfully painted. She has a fabric body with some lovely stitched lace details. This puppet is a rare find from an old hand puppet set. Her origin is unknown. She is likely of German origin made in the early 1900s. Judy's structure is solid and displays very well, but she shows play wear, gained during her many years of entertainment. However her imperfections only give her an added layer of charm and personality. Whether you are a puppet fan or an antique collector you will love hanging around with this cheerful old puppet!
