Like Silvertone & Harmony guitars of the 1950's &'60s, Danelectro guitars have gained the kind of cult status that still sees them as a go to for guitar players looking for a truly unique tone, with a mid century vintage styling that is pure Americana. 

This Stress-free 1966 Danelectro Longhorn Bass Vi Device [MyVoKs0Q] is undoubtedly one of the companies most recognisable designs, and although rarely seen on stage, it was a recording studio staple throughout the 1960's. The Longhorn Bass VI is constructed from the masonite and poplar chambered body design that gives vintage Danelectro's such a unique tone, with a punchy, defined sound that responds excellently to picked basslines. The maple neck features a rosewood fingerboard and typically flat 14.5" radius, along with the signature coke bottle headstock design and 'skate' tuners. The body is fitted with the traditional single coil lipstick pickup, perfect for gritty, overdriven sounds and warm and rich clean tones. Other features include the adjustable rosewood bridge, concentric volume and tone controls and beautiful copper burst finish.

This guitar is in very good condition, with only minor signs of play wear and patina. It is original with the exception of a replacement control cavity cover plate, and some internal rewiring. It is currently set up for E-E Bass VI tuning, but could also be strung for Baritone playing. This guitar has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
