Restored to their former glory, this row of Victorian houses is an elegant reminder of San Francisco’s past. Many of these beautiful homes were lost in the earthquake and subsequent fires that ravaged the city in 1906. I had been to this location many times, but until now the fog had thwarted my attempts for a clear, strong composition. I waited out the afternoon, then just as the light was fading, sunset cast a beautiful pastel glow over the skyline. I took my chances with a long exposure and captured this stunning twilight image.
