The 12-hour drive from Yellowstone to Glacier was weighing heavily on me, but I desperately wanted to get to this location before sunset. As I arrived, I noticed a storm brewing in the pass. I could feel my adrenaline level rising as I rushed closer. Before me, a glowing valley of color unfurled. I set my tripod just in time to capture this ray of sunshine blasting through the clouds. It was a spectacular lightshow that was changing by the second! I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect marriage of location and weather. It was absolute glory. Standing there, I was at once exhausted and exhilarated. The long drive had rewarded me with one of my absolute favorite shots of the entire trip.
