Powermaster designed this 9002 PowerMax Plus Starter for 1954-1964 Ford Y-Block 12-Volt engines using a 146 Tooth Flywheel that have up to a 14.0:1 compression ratio! The 3.7:1 gear reduction ratio on this natural Hitachi-style mini starter supplies reliable cranking power, while the 4-position rotation system clears most headers and kick-out oil pans.

This starter is an excellent choice where heat soak, limited space or hot starting is a concern. The billet aluminum adapter block helps the PowerMax Plus line to be lighter than stock starters.
