The Bently Nevada 991-06-70-01-CN is a 2-wire, loop powered thrust transmitter that is primarily intended for the original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) of centrifugal air compressors or small pumps, motors, or fans who prefer to provide a simple 4 to 20 mA proportional axial displacement (thrust) signal as the input to their machinery control system.
The 991 thrust transmitter is a non-contacting device that uses a variable reluctance principle to measure thrust. The transmitter consists of a probe that is mounted to the compressor shaft and a sensor that is mounted to the compressor housing. The probe and sensor are separated by a small air gap. As the compressor shaft displaces, the air gap changes, which causes a change in the reluctance of the magnetic circuit. This change in reluctance is then converted into an electrical signal that is proportional to the thrust.
The 991 thrust transmitter is a reliable and accurate device that is designed to withstand the harsh environments of industrial applications. The transmitter is also easy to install and maintain.
