A magnificent pair of vintage Yves Saint Laurent heart-shaped clip on earrings.

The textured gold-plated earrings are decorated with golden beading and set with mesmerising amber style resin cabochons.  

Beautifully crafted and in excellent vintage condition.

Dates 1980s. Signed YSL Made in France to reverse.

The heart has been the emblem of the House of Saint Laurent since the 1960s. Yves St. Laurent is quoted as saying 'without an elegance of the heart, there is no elegance' and each season a heart was placed on his favourite model on the runway; thus the heart became a symbol of the house, seen across heritage and contemporary design.
