Cast Iron Placement:

We recommend keeping cast iron close to the fire, where it can easily absorb the heat it needs to blacken or sear. Using cast iron near the felt line is possible, but you'll need to have a much hotter fire to achieve similar results to using it atop the fire ring or even lower on a rack accessory.

• XL Half-Moon can sit directly on the XL fire ring but requires support underneath if used on the 2XL EGG.
• Large Half-Moon can sit directly on the Large fire ring but requires support underneath if used on the XL or 2XL EGGs.
• 14" Full Round requires support underneath, for Medium, Large, XL or 2XL EGGs.
• 10.5" Full Round requires support underneath, for MiniMax - 2XL EGGs.

Using Cast Iron Griddles:

Are you a fan of blacken steaks or smash burgers. The Plancha Griddle provides the flat surface to grill with high heat. Same great affects as a cast iron grid, just a full grilling surface. Use the flat or ridge side, your choice.

Also great for sautéing vegetables or even cooking breakfast! Use the flat side for pancakes and eggs, the ridged side for sausage and bacon. The half-moon griddles can be used individually or in pairs.

Caring for Cast Iron Griddles:

CARE: Clean with soap and water before first use. Soap is not recommended after initial cleaning - hand wash with a brush and water only, dry immediately and lightly coat with cooking oil after each use. Never wash cast iron in the dishwasher.
