The purity and generosity of 2019 are in a happy place in the elegant Deutz mood, in a beautifully precise and enticing style. the generosity of the season lends nuances of fig and pear to its classic core of apple and lemon, becoming strawberry and red cherry with time in the glass. Three years on lees has brought an eloquent backdrop of brioche, spice and honey, building a gently creamy texture. It holds impressive length, integrity and appeal.

James Sucklings 93 Points | Very attractive nose of lemon blossom, tarte au citron and lemon curd. Very elegant and delicate with an inner strength that doesn't make this at all loud. I love the interplay of the fine mousse and citrusy fruit on the medium-bodied palate. Long finish with subtle spicy notes. 39% chardonnay, 31% pinot noir and 30% pinot meunier. Winemaker Description 

The color of the wine is an intense gold with fine effervescence that signifies long maturation on the lees. On the nose, the wine initially displays notes of hawthorn and white flowers, which are followed by aromas of toast, marzipan and ripe pears. On the palate, the wine is full bodied and elegant with the freshness of Chardonnay and richness of Pinot Noir. Overall, the wine is well-rounded with a fruity finish.

Founded in 1838 by William Deutz and Pierre Gelderman, this honorable firm is based in Ay, one of the 17 top-rated Grand Cru villages of Champagne. Total production is about two million bottles with 75% of the grapes brought in from Grand and Premier Cru vineyards. Its estate is spread over five villages, including some of the most beautiful locations in all Champagne, and as such Deutz has developed a rich, round, fruit-filled style that is vinous yet refreshing. Each blend boasts the same elegant signature bottle, in which it was aged on its lees for a minimum of three years – a guarantee of quality from the Brut Classic to the prestige cuvees.
