When Selle Italia wanted to lighten up the already minimal SLR saddle, they turned to carbon rails. Their SLR Kit Carbonio Superflow Saddle adds Carbo Keramic rails to the support system.

These rails are 7 x 9mm in shape and consist of carbon-fiber rails with a ceramic coating to protect them for nicks and scratches, which can lead to them eventually fracturing.

The shell is what SLR saddles commonly boast, a carbon-composite material that is light and has just enough give. It is covered by a thin layer of padding and a Fibra-Tek cover.
