William Lazell Phillips, better known to brothers as “Uncle Billy,” dedicated much of his life to SigEp. Uncle Billy served in many roles, including as the Fraternity’s first Grand Secretary, first editor of the SigEp Journal and Grand President. Laying the foundation of what SigEp is today — a pioneer among fraternities — he founded dozens of new chapters while traveling to campuses around the country and publishing stories that kept alumni connected long after graduation.
