The technology is finally here! A true midwave (UVB) LED flashlight. These custom built flashlights represent years of work to make affordable, powerful, portable midwave LEDs a reality. 

This light features a single, powerful 310nm LED (identical response as a standard 310nm tube lamp) on a custom driver, powered by a single 18650 battery, all in the popular Convoy-style M1 host. The light includes a dichroic lens filter, which blocks unwanted wavelengths from exiting the flashlight, while allowing for far more UV light to pass through (80%) than the ZWB3 (40%) or even HOYA filters (60%) found in other lights. Our beam gives a fluorescent response equivalent to a traditional 9W 310nm tube-based shortwave lamp. The long throw and tight, strong beam of the flashlight mean you can easily browse fluorescent minerals in a brightly lit mineral show or home setting without requiring total darkness. When you're outside rockhounding, you can start hunting earlier in the evening, and cover more ground than ever without crawling in the dirt or even stooping over like you need to with old tube lights. On top of all this is the amazing portability, as it slips easily into your pocket at just 5.25" (13cm) long, with a 1" (2.5cm) body diameter / 1.5" (3.5cm) head diameter and weighing in at just 5.8 oz (165g) including a battery.
