A wonderfully preserved set of c. 1935-1940 wooden skis manufactured in Hastings Minnesota. Original finish, labels, bindings and foot pads topped off with a classic nipple pointed tip. Skis in this condition are difficult to find.
Northland Ski Manufacturing Company was founded as the C. A. Lund Company in Hastings, Minnesota by Norwegian-born Christian A. Lund back in 1911. Skis, Poles, Boots, Bindings, Toboggans, and Snowshoes were manufactured at Hastings, Minnesota, St. Paul and in Laconia, New Hampshire. By the mid 1920’s and on into the 1930s, Northland was the nation’s largest producer of Winter Sporting equipment.
