Gorham 2 pc carving set with hand ground, drop forged stainless steel knife and fork with sterling silver handles.
Gorham was established in 1831 in Providence R.I., this set likely dating from the 1930's as the Gorham Lion and Anchor with a G mark is not accompanied by a separate mark for the year, from 1931-1941 Gorham skipped this detail.
Both origninal knife and fork are in excellent condition, 9" blade is very full with a fresh edge and the fork's tines are straight and the guard springy and secure.
Like all other culinary knives this should never go in the dishwasher, carving knife handles will come loose with high heat (dishwasher, stove top etc), carbon steel can rust if left wet or dirty, expect a patina to form with use.
