All-in-one Re-ground Vintage 8" Slicer Carbon Ebony Handle Usa ~1880-1920? Series [56lh8U0k]

A re-imagined old hand forged after drop forged slicer with 6 pin ebony handle from the heyday of American knife making. This was originally a much longer knives (12"?) but had been cut down to 8" with a carving knife shaped tip. It has been thinned here at Bernal Cutlery to give the blade more finesse as it was a bit thick behind the edge. It is also freshly sharpened and ready to get to work.

Handle has a couple of stable cracks and definitly shows sear and use. It is still a handsome old knife and possibly more useful to more people in its shorter iteration here. 

Definitley American and most likely from LF&C of New Britain Ct. The square shouldered bolster is very much their style.
