Dasco brand from Damascus Steel Products Corp. of Rockford Ill 1922-62 produced a wide variety of products including this 12.5" lambsplitter with carbon steel blade and steel riveted hardwood handle. 

The edge on this when found had been poorly sharpened but not ground heavily or damaged, it has been thinned to a convex edge with a small microbevel and is ready to get to work. No hammer marks to spine or damage to handle, honestly it looks to have been used very little.
