An easy to use, highly portable instrument weighing only 3.25 pounds, the Apertura 60EDR is an extremely versatile apochromatic doublet refractor that serves as a travel scope, guide scope, super finder, or spotting scope. This 60mm f/6 APO refractor features Ohara FPL-53 glass optics to produce superb contrast, incredible color correction, and pinpoint sharpness within the limits of its magnification capabilities. Measuring only a little over 12" in length with the dew shield fully extended and 9.5" with the dew shield fully retracted, this beautiful scope offers convenient compactness owners will certainly enjoy. Suitable for use as both a visual and astro-imaging instrument, this 60 mm APO refractor provides magnificent images of solar system objects, bright deep-sky objects, animals, terrestrial landscapes, the Sun (with proper solar safe filter added), and more!

Dual-Speed Rack & Pinion Focuser

The Apertura 60EDR Refractor boasts a 2" Dual-Speed Rack & Pinion Focuser with the capacity for 10:1 micro focusing. This focuser contains two knobs, one large for making larger adjustments to focus quickly, and one small for tweaking focus in tiny increments until you have it full optimized. Plus, images will love the built-in camera angle adjuster!

Mounting the Apertura 60 mm APO Refractor is easy. It comes with a fitted hinged ring that drops down to a sturdy foot with 1/4-20 threads. Simply attach the 60EDR to a photographic tripod for the ultimate in portability, or attach the foot to a dovetail that will fit your alt-azimuth or equatorial mount. Alternatively, you can always connect the Apertura 60EDR to a larger OTA via a dovetail and use it as a guide scope. Lastly, remove the hinged ring, get yourself a larger finder bracket (measure the largest diameter to make sure the scope fits inside) and voila, you have an outstanding finderscope with the ability to accept multiple eyepieces, including an illuminated reticle model.
