This spectacular Antique Map of Westphalia is in good condition. It appears to be a colored reprinting of a map by famed geographer Gerhard Mercator from 1594, depicting the Holy Roman counties of Berg, Marke, and Cologne. The map seems to have been removed from an atlas; there is a deliberate crease in the middle, and on the back runs a strip of material where it once connected to the spine of a book. There is a slight water stain in the right margin, as well as a number of blotches from age on both the front and back. However, if anything, these imperfections merely heighten the piece's stunning vintage aesthetic. It would look breathtaking framed and hung on a wall.
