The low horseshoe shaped corner sofa with horsehair stuffing and original piped period upholstery to the whole standing on six original ebonised and brass casters, surviving from the first quarter of the twentieth century England.

The condition is very original, there have been no alterations or replacements in the last century. As such, her upholstery has suffered a little, mainly to two areas to the seat and to one of top rail ends but elsewhere is still in nice order all things considered. The legs and castors are all original and sturdy. The horsehair stuffing is all in tact and in its rightful place and she does not require re-springing or re-webbing. Obviously the piece could be re-upholstered to suit if so desired.

This sofa could be termed a loveseat, named such as it is designed for two people. Developing along with the first couches in the mid-1700s, it's appeared throughout the ages in a variety of styles, shapes and fabrics. This corner shaped sofa means each person is part facing each other.

One does not see many period pieces of this size and shape at all, and she proves very versatile and undeniably pretty thus.
